    Your story matters.

  • Results-focused approach

Efficient, focused care that helps many clients make progress.

How I work

You're not broken. You learned a pattern, and patterns can change.

A lot of what hurts is a pathway your brain wore in through repetition, often to get you through something hard. New repetition wears in a new path.

  • Connection comes first

Nothing else works until you trust the person across from you. We build that first, and we keep building it.

  • Insight in session, change during the week

Understanding a pattern rarely changes it by itself. Each session ends with one small thing to practice before we meet again.

  • You don't have to feel ready

Motivation usually shows up after action. We find the smallest next step and treat it as an experiment you can learn from.

  • Straight talk, on your side

Expect stories, some humor, and honesty. I won't just tell you what you want to hear, and I'll stay close while we work on the hard parts.

Tools I draw from: CBT, ACT, DBT skills, and mindfulness, matched to the person in front of me. My approach, Integrated Human Therapy, looks at body, mind, and relationships together.

Getting started

What working together looks like

  1. Book through Headway

Choose a time, add your insurance, and see your cost before you confirm. Headway handles the billing.

  2. First session: the whole picture

We talk about what brought you in, what you want to be different, and the parts of life around it.

  3. Weekly work, one step at a time

We focus on what matters most first. You leave each session with something small to try that week.

  4. Step down as you get steady

As things improve, we meet less often. The goal is for you to carry what you've built into your everyday life, your relationships, and your community.

About

Hi, I'm Sean

I've spent my career sitting with people in hard seasons. After more than 20,000 sessions, I still believe the relationship is the most important thing in the room. People open up when they feel safe, and they change when they practice something new.

I think in stories and pictures as much as in research and data, so expect both. We'll look at how you see things, how you feel, and what you do, and how all of it connects to your body and the people around you.

I hold an MA and a PhD. I'm a National Certified Counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor, and I'm licensed as a professional counselor in Pennsylvania and South Carolina. I live in South Carolina.

Change how you see it, and how you feel changes. Change how you feel, and what you do changes.

Questions

Things people usually ask

What happens in the first session?

We get to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you in, what you want to be different, and your life around it. You can ask me anything too.

Is what I say kept private?

Yes. There are a few limits set by law, such as a serious risk of harm. I'll explain them clearly in our first session.

Can my faith be part of counseling?

Yes, and I would love for it to be. Faith matters, and it's welcome in the work.

How long will I need therapy?

It depends on what you're working on. Many people notice a difference within the first several sessions. We'll check progress together and adjust as we go.

What if we're not a good fit?

Tell me. Fit matters, and I'll help you find someone who suits you better.

What if I'm in crisis?

Call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. Therapy sessions aren't an emergency service.
